You can turn a 120 film into a ready to use 620 film with a pair of flush faced side cutters and sandpaper. Sand each end of the 120 film spool down to about half it's thickness, then nibble around the ends of the spool until flush with the surface of the film . If you get into a routine you can do a few in half an hour and without disturbing the film on the roll.

I have done just that and also the finger nail / toe nail clipper thing too. It's messy, time consuming and still a tight fit in some cameras. Also, if you get to carried away you'll have slight light leaks along the edge of your film. I can respool faster and have less feeding problems that way. Believe me, if there were a better, more reliable way than respooling I would be doing it. John W

I just re-spooled a roll of 120 to 620 for the first time tonight. Used only one spool and used a changing bag. Very easy to do. I've loaded the film in a Kodak Reflex II and look forward to trying out some of my other 620 cameras now that I realize how easy it is.
I do occassionally respool cut-down 120 to 127 so technically this isn't the "first time" but this was WAY easier than doing the 127 size
