6008AF and battery refit

does a rebuild of the NiMH cells of this camera mitigate the problem of low battery life on the 6008 series? does the rapid charger help to preserve life? if so, this could be a great street snapper.

Yes, No and Yes. There are several postings on photo.net about re-building with much higher capacity cells. In the US, I've used Battery Specialties in California, they did an excellent job. I use a MaHa charger and my understanding is that these and similar chargers with discharge and deep cycle capacity are better than even the last Rollei charger- and cheaper.
