I recently acquired several well used Eastman 5x7 holders. Can anyone tell me (and maybe others) how to replace the taping holding the lower
flaps. I checked the holders with strips of film and the principal problem
appears to be only the bottoms. I recall that long ago I fixed some 8x10
holders with gaffers tape. Maybe thatis still a way to go. I will very much
appreciate your input.
I use gaffers tape but I can see that the bookbidinding tape would probably be a better product over the long haul. Just get the old adhesive off(some of that stuff can be tenacious!) and cut the new tape to fit. If you've got the dimensions you can stick your tape to wax paper to trim to the dimensions and peel it off to attach. I find a single edge razor blade or xacto knife to trim it up works for me.
Wow!!!! Thanks so much for the responses. I will try the Calumet hinge tape. John, getting the old tape and glue residue off the wood is a miserable job. I will try some
acetone today. In any case, I will let you know how it turns out.
