But their damn tough. I whipped the pack onto the shoulder and all of a sudden it felt real light and then I heard the shattering of glass. I had forgotten to zip the pack shut. The camera was impaled on the back of a bar stool several feet away. The sucker flew. A quick inspection showed only the GG was busted. Nothing else out of alighment and the bellows was fine. Thank god I only have to replace the GG. Anyone know what Satin Snow's ETA is running these days? I'll need to order one but was hoping to have a GG in place before may 13 when I am heading into the mountains for a weekend of melting snow photography.

It is a pisser but I am happy the camera is safe.

I think Dave has said on this forum that he has about 40 GGs to grind and he's a bit backed up. So I would suspect you'd have to wait at least 6 weeks for a glass, maybe longer.

We are closer to being caught up, I am currently finishing up most of the 4 x 5 stuff this week, and will also be working on 8 x 10 and ULF glass this week, Mark, drop me an email I should be able to get one squeezed in for you.

I did the exact same thing a couple years ago. Unfortunately, the Minolta SRT died instantly.

Mark,
Remember, it's not the fall it's the sudden stop that kills ya.

Sounds like Dave has you in good shape. I could send a loaner to get you past the May 13 if you need. Shipping would eat you up though. $7.70 each way in a USPS flat rate box with plenty of padding.

Looks like dave has me situated. Thanks Jim, for the offer.
