My 5DII satisfied my (amateur) needs. I traded a Rebel5Ti and stepped up to the FF format. It was my first FF DSLR. I liked the image quality, the Canon lenses, Canon image editing software. I didn't need or use autofocus much. I did find the "Live-view" screen very helpful with focusing, in particular when using a tripod, the liveview can provide a magnified section of the image for focusing, and the section can be steered around the frame. Eventually I traded the 5DII because I found the Canon G16 does everything I need and is pocketable. I think I got about $700 for the 5DII with low shutter count, just before Christmas.
