For Sale: 5 x 7 Mahogany Tailboard Camera
Made by Seneca for Montgomery Wards - Chicago View Variation No. 4
Made between 1905 to 1925
Project camera that needs some restoration and new bellows, GG and lens board. Missing rear tailboard.
That said - The finish on this camera is in remarkably good condition as is the brass hardware.
All the hardware and knobs are intact. One knob slips off for the rear swing lock and that's included in a bag.
The materials: Mahogany body, Cherry base, brass hardware. Weight as is: 4.62 lbs. Not bad for a 5 x 7.
This would make a beautiful display camera or a great little 5 x 7 field camera. With new bellows this will fold up compactly.
And Senecas are popular for field use because of their lighter weight
Price: $125.00 plus shipping. PayPal accepted. Note the camera will not fold up as it was designed to because of the old bellows.
It will therefore need to be shipped via FedEx in a fairly good sized box. Estimate: $35 to $60 for shipping depending on where in the US you are.
Local pickup in San Diego or Orange County recommended.
