For Sale: 5 x 7 Agfa Ansco Universal View with 12-inch Goerz Celor Lens
Camera has the original 5 x 7 back, an Agfa 4 x 5 back, and (2) extra lens boards.
The body has a built in extension bed that slides out the back of the bed.
The front standard has a built in Packard Shutter with ball and tube that works great.
The body is made of cherry wood with a French Polish finish, with gold painted brass hardware.
All movements including focus are smooth and lock down properly.
Ken Ruth of Bald Mountain Photography went over this camera and made repairs and replaced the bellows.
Ken also installed a threaded brass rod in the back that keeps the rear of the bed stable and reinforced.
The bellows are in excellent condition. The camera has 16 ½ inches maximum extension 3 ½ inches minimum extension.
The front has rise fall and shift, the back has tilt and swing.
The 12 inch Goerz Celor lens was made famous by George Hurrell for his
Hollywood portraits and this camera was probably originally used in a portrait studio.
The Celor lens is in good vintage condition, and uses the older US stop system. A conversion chart will be sent.
