I have one and it took some getting used to. Once I got the hang of using one, I love it. It's an amazing tool. I could process 12 sheets with a liter of chemistry. Unlike most metal film tanks, washing the negs is close to impossible. I rigged a plastic container and a metal CD rack for my sheet film washer.
I'm about to mothball the 3010 big tank and move to SP445 for three reasons:
I rarely do more than a handul of 4x5 sheets and the setup and teardown times for the big tank is a barrier I'd like to remove.
I'd like the ability to do both continuous and standard agitation cycles, sometimes continuous and our water temperature causes too short times and I want better contrast control and resistance to streaking from short development times.
I'd like to shrink my used space requirements and the 3010 just eats up too much precious space over here.
Some reasons you may wish to consider in your choice.
Ive used the Paterson Orbital with gold results, unfortunately its not that common. Now i use jobo with the 2409 reels which Works great but takes some practice to load correctly. The mod 45 Ive tried twice with not so good results, seems my m.o. doesnt fit that one.
