what camera are you using?
check it for light leaks using the bright light inside method but put a film holder in when testing. your film holder may not be seating properly.
How could a light leak at the camera produce fogging, such sharply edged going through the image center?

Look at the prominent vertical line where the development changes - it's off on a slight angle. The op is using custom rollers with a patterson system 3. System three has a lid so it will not sit fully horizontally. My thoughts, insufficient volume of developer, tank placed on it's side, custom roller either not activated right away or it was allowed to sit in one position for a longer period of time, so that section was developed more than the rest.

Can't see how it may relate to your problems but when doing your testing make sure to use a proper lens hood to cut off non-image light from bouncing around inside the camera.

If Graflex could be focal plane shutter drag...possibly needs CLA...though mention of careless use of dark slide provides another clue.

Exposures and even focus are erratic so guesses about erratic development problem might also be correct.

Looks like a focal plane shutter issue to me.

Does not look like lens flare. Does not look like a light leak in the camera. Possibly a processing issue related to chemical coverage on the film. I am going with focal plane shutter problem.

Another question that hasn't been answered yet but asked a couple of times.

What camera do you use??

If it's got a FP shutter it may be a shutter problem, leaf shutter, not likely.

Never seen a large format camera with a horizontal focal plane shutter, 35mm with a cloth shutter yes

IF it's a Speed Graphic and the film in landscape format the shutter travels across the long dimension. Of course if the
camera's been rotated well, still does..
