I set up my Speed Graphic with 135mm Optar, pointed at the side of my house on level ground and put tape markers on it. First, making corner marks for the entire 4x5 ground glass, and then another set of markers where the 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 area was on the ground glass. Then cut a piece of clear acetate to slip into the top slot of the viewfinder. Then carefully marked on that acetate where my markers were on the side of the house. Then scanned that small piece of acetate and imported it into Freecad and made this mask. Since it's only .6mm thick, it was asking a lot out of a 3D printer. But it worked. The only post printing was to sand the layer lines so it would be smooth and slip into that narrow slot. BINGO! Worked perfectly. In fact, mine was more accurate than the original Graflex metal one. Theirs was a bit too big. With mine, there's no danger unintended cropping. As an aside, it's interesting to note that the Graphic 23 Roll Film older for 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 is only 2 1/4 x 3 1/16. Since I had drawn the actual area on my ground glass, I made my viewfinder frame to fit THAT. Here are those files. The original Freecad file, an stl, and a gcode. Print PLA. Use the finest setting your slicer allows.
