Vaughn... A piro-WHAT?? Sometimes I wonder about some of my fellow LF photographers... and other times I know.

I understand what Vaughn is suggesting, but those camera adjustments can be quite painful if improperly executed. At my age I must stick with the slow minuet.

You'll have to use your imaginations on what that looks like.

Here's a mix of 8x10's near and far on my flickr site--

Since I posted this link a few days ago, it's gotten a surprising number of hits, so I guess a few people must read APUG. One person asked if I could post a higher resolution scan, which I generally don't do for web images, but I've got one high res demo on my website at--

And I've uploaded a larger version of the image requested on flickr--

Yeah, it's not exactly the image I think needs to be that large for the computer screen, but since someone asked, it wasn't so hard to do.

8x10 negative scanned and downsized for the web:

Cropped, unsharpened detail pulled from the original file showing the serial number of the lens on the 4x5 and that the 4x5 wasn't level:

Just to get an idea of the detail possible with 8x10.

The detail, tonality, and depth of the high resolution example of the viaduct is stunning...
