What format was 4cmx4cm? Was it 127? Assuming I can't find the right carrier would just masking off my 4"x5" glass carrier be the best choice? If so is the lith tape sold by freestyle that they call ruby red the right stuff? Or should I go with something else?

I found several negatives this morning. Some are actually from the prints I was trying to copy some represent images I've never seen. I'd like to do this right.

Thanks

Yes. There were a *bunch* of cheap 127 cameras sold after the second world war - most were an application of a rectangular format. The only 4cm x 4cm square format camera I can remember was a wonderful *gem*, the "Baby Rollieflex". There may well have been others - parobably from Japan.

The Yashica 44 also had a good reputation. BTW, J&C sells film in this size.

I have successfully masked my 4x5 carrier for smaller sizes, so it should work for you.

Who ever owned the camera I'm sure it's long gone-( But I've found the negatives that I was 100% sure were gone so that's the important thing.

Thanks

Robert, depending on your enlarger, you can make a neg carrier out of mount board. I use a razor blade to cut the neg hol out and then use a pencil to smooth the edges. I then tape the neg down with masking tape. This is with an Omega D2 enlarger. Let me know if you decide to go the ruby lith way. I have some I can send you.

Perfect. This reminded me that when I got the enlarger the carrier had been masked off just like this. I went and dug out the pieces of board I'd ripped off and put them back. Works perfectly. Well I had to get new tape-))

Thanks
