I have dived into the deep end and bought myself a 40mm lens for my 501cm camera. Question - did Hasselblad make a hood for this lens? I have seen a rubber hood for one of the earlier versions of this lens but when talking to the gentleman selling the lens he thought that the hood was an integral part of the redesigned lens, it did not come as a separate item.

Cheers, Steve

Yes, with the lens Hasselblad provided a hood/adapter #40693. IMO, it is more of an adapter than hood. However, due to the wide angle of this lens anything more would begin to vignette. They can be found/purchased via online auctions in the $150 to $200 range.

Best of luck using your new lens.

It's a great lens and works ell with the built-in hood but consider to carry a large card to block light coming from bright sources such as the sun.
