I bought a big box of darkroom junk and in the box was a "like new" 4 inch(100mm) f9.5 Goerz Apochromat Red Dot Artar. I think it's in a 00 Synchro-Compur, but could be wrong on the size. The shutter measures 1 11/16 across. What does it cover and what was it used for. This one had a 39mm(Leica thread) ring on the rear. I was guessing the person to whom the darnroom stuff belonged to might have used it as an enlarger lens??? Anybody out there have any info on this lens? John W

And remember to inflate claimed coverage by 15%. Still and all "covers 4x5 + 15%" at 1:1 means covers around 86 mm at infinity.

Thanks Steve! I was thinking of slipping this on my Kodak Recomar 18, but it looks as if it won't cover 2x3 at infinity. Might try it on my Canon 5D with my 39mm to 42mm focusing mount. It sure is cute, but probably of not much use to me. Of course I could try it 1:1 on my 4x5 as I see it will cover 4x5 at that enlargement ratio. John W
