I just picked up a #4 cartridge kodak with a ground glass and sheet film back and holder. The holder is for plates and there was no film sheath witj it.Would conventional 4x5 sheet film holders work or do I have to hunt down the sheaths?

Your milage may vary, but I"ve had good luck with 4x5 plate and film holders being the same dimensions. As for the plane of focus, measure the depth from the ground glass to the edge of the frame. If its not the same depth you'll have to modify either the GG or your holders.

Good luck!
