Looking for "affordable" RC Glossy 8x10" paper for contact sheets. Beside usual suspect: Foma, Ilford etc there are "house brands" offerings from: Adorama Variable Grade 42$ for 100-8x10 glossy
BH MultiTone - 64$ and Ultrafine VC ELITE - 55$
Did any of you used and compared all or some of those papers?
Thank you in advance
I use Ultrafine and Multitone, right now have a 250 sheet box of Ultrafine 8X10, for my purposes it's fine, right now I am making proof sheets for negatives that for what ever reason I did not make proof sheets at the time going back to the 70s. I follow up with work prints before making presentation prints on Foma FB VC. I'm using Clayton P20, works fine, in the past used Dektol, LPD, standard stop and fix, I generally print contact sheets grade 1 1/2 or 2.
I've print work prints grade 2 to 2 1/2, but if needed I do print grade 3 and 4, both Ultrafine and Multitone print well at higher contrast. I don't split print, so don't know how well they would do in that regard. You might to check on shipping costs, B&H New York, Ultrafine Photo Wearhouse is in the LA area.
Thank you Paul! When you live on this side of the border, you have to be very aware of shipping charges, duty's, handling charges and all other financial obstacles. There is no other way around! First step is to order enough stuff to make free shipping, if there is that option. With all this heat in recent days, will wait for the fall temperatures to order any photosensitive material.
