3D printed 6x18 camera

Tinkering on a design for a 3d printed 6x18 camera.
I'm not that far in to the project yet but looking for feedback and ideas on improvements.
I will make the lens cone detachable so several lenses can be used.

The "filmback" is done but the rest still to come



Since I got hundreds of ballbearings I decided to use one to give some stability to the film advance.



I will try and use a steel ball and a spring to give a nice clicking to the advance



 
Red window in the back to tell when you've advanced the film far enough?

Pressure plate?
 
This body isn't very deep. Will you make a cone for the lens (or pinhole) for better coverage of the film plane? Otherwise there will be significant fall off on the sides of the negative. Do you know the design of a Holga 120PAN?

A red window and a cone will be added next.
I have used a Holga 6x6 for some basic dimension of the film compartment.
It will probably look similar to the 120PAN when complete.
 
How are you designing the film door to open? With my Gaoersi 6x17, the door is held on by two clips and pops completely off when you want to change a roll of film - I am envious of the Fuji 6x17's hinged door - because it frees up your hands to load film more carefully, and is one less thing to drop on the ground...

But wouldn't a hinged door this size make it a bit clumsy, holding and loading the camera? It's getting very wide when opened. I'd like the back to get off completely.

How important is a prassureplate or a track for the film?

A cone for 90mm lens

Ok do you suggest a track or prassureplate?
Tracks seems easier to design as there is no moving parts.

Both. Look at a panoramic 6x17 or 6x12 camera or back. Or even a TLR like a Rolleiflex or Yasjicamat they al have tracks and pressure plates.

I usually upload my projects on thingiverse so this will probably end up there to.
 
Anyone here who knows where I should put the window in relation to the center of the camera?
And also where to stop the film when winding it on.

 
Made some design tweaks, added some cold shoes and a bubble level.
