A recent medical scare has finally convinced me that it's time to shed weight, both my own and that of my equipment, so I'm offering up a variety of my larger, heavier gear over the next few months. I've never used most of this stuff, it's sat in my safe awaiting my foray into 8x10 which, if it ever does happen, will now use lighter and slower lenses.
This is a very clean single-coated thick-glass Tessar in an older-style Copal 3S (marked simply "Copal") shutter, the kind with non-equal spacing between the full stops. There are no obvious problems with the glass and the exterior is in pretty good condition with only minor marks of usage. The shutter sounds correct but I noticed something odd about the 1 second setting - sometimes it fires as 1/2 sec, but if I turn it to B first, then back to 1 sec it's fine. It comes with Fujinon caps front and rear and a mounting flange instead of a two-piece mounting ring.
This is definitely a lens of substance, weighing 868 grams with caps and and mounting rings (standard plus secrew-on retainer) - a bit under 2 US pounds - according to my kitchen scale. You'll need a solid camera with a strong front standard to use it. The specified f/22 image circle at infinity is 343mm so it'll cover 8x10, 7x11, or 5x12 with a bit of movement at infinity and all you could possibly need at portrait distances. It takes 67mm filters.
My asking price of $350 includes insured US shipping. PayPal G&S is fine, and I will ship only to the PayPal-verified address. International shipping is crazy-expensive so I'd like to start out offering this to US buyers only.
