Where can I get 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 film other than Efke PL100? I bought this from Freestyle, they don't seem to have any other emulsions available. I know Kodak has none, but what about Ilford?

I have this nice little auto-graflex and two bag-mags, and want to get as much use out of this camera as possible. It is a fun camera to use.

I think Polaroid or Fuji pack film is 3 1/4 by 4 1/4 but I don't know if a film holder for your camera is available.

Freestyle only has one listed, I was surprised, I thought there were more available. The alternative, ugh, is to cut down from larger sheets.

Here in Europe there is Wephota films from Germany, they come in 25 and 100asa for 1/4 plate size. It is very good film.
Geert stocks it at Dead Link Removed. Also Retrophotographic stocks it and also a German site http://www.lumiere-shop.de/index.php?cat=c276_flat-film-Antik-Camera.html which has a large range of different sheet film sizes including 1/4 plate.
I shoot a lot of 1/4 plate size sheet film in my Graflex 3x4 super D, it is a nice size film, if I need colour, etc. I use a 6x9 or 6x6 Graflex roll film holder. They are super cameras Graflex slr's. I even cut down 4x5 sometimes, I've used TriX this way and soon to use Kodak Ektachrome. There are a lot of possibilities, but this is from a European perspective. Good luck, Anton

Anton,

Thank you for this information. I will probably order this next week. I am still looking for a roll film holder. 3x4 graflex holders are few and far between. I will probably cut down some Ektachrome to fit, I have some and may want to experiment. I like the larger transparencies.

You're welcome. Cutting is quite easy, just set the cutter up, you only have cut the same size (3/4 inch) off the 5x4 sheet. Roll film holders can be scarce. My 6x9 came with my camera, but I had to wait 2 years to find a Graflex 22 6x6 holder, they seem to be very scarce. Ebay is the main source of course....It is kind of cool being able to shoot 6x6cm with a 152mm Ektar! I have black card masks on my ground glass cut to the correct film sizes, helps a lot to formulate images. I also just got a +3 Series VI Portra lens which is very good for close-ups.

sheetfilm.be seems to have disappeared.

I've just been to the post office to collect an assortment of half-plate and 6,5x9 Wephota films that I ordered from www.lumiere-shop.de just two weeks ago, so I can recommend them for their quick service and wide range of unusual sizes.

What about the Ilford special order sizes? Wasn't 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 included this year? Glazer's in Seattle is a stocking dealer for the Ilford special sizes.

Ilford do not list Quarter plate, even in the unusual sizes - However I asked them about a couple of months ago about it and basically they will do it, but we would need to buy 36 x 25 sheet boxes (I think that was the number) and the price would be something like £50 retail. Could be FP4 or HP5.

I would be willing to take a few boxes into stock, but we would still need to find buyers for quite a few boxes - maybe there are QP users out there.....

I will check these figures today though, as I'm recalling from memory.

Matt
