Side by side sounds like fun! At least just tape 2 strips on a 120 backing paper and pull it through! Seems it would be nicer horizontally, so maybe shot in a 6x9 folder...

If you take 2 type 135 cassettes, cut off their leaders, pull out a few centimeters, put the strips side by, tape the protruding strips along the centerline and then spool them in the darkroom onto to a 70mm spool, and load the respective cassette in a 70mm camera it should work.

However, I expect a loss of sharpness along th center rebates due to curl.

yeah,yeah! side by side . Thanks; nobody(until now) tried this I assume. I've spoolded this already but would give it a try/go on this forum before shooting! "Horizontally' because of those double sprockets in the middle, maybe? 2x 35 doesn't fit on 120mm back paper.

Could be interesting in a portrait too? Wait & see..

120 film is only 60mm wide.

He's using a A70 back, which is 70mm film.

I think the real difficulty is keeping the feed tension equal and having a long enough margin when taping in your two films, to be sure it is taped down correctly.

Otherwise, give it a go, and do no forget to try b&w and colour films together, or infrared or pan. and ortho, etc.

Those would be interesting to look at, so show us some results soon.

Also, if it works, what better 'side by side' comparison could there be?

What about using a vacuum back for flatness? e.g. Mamiya RB67 70mm back has a suction bulb accessory for flattening the film.
