I had recently bought from a well known auction site what was purported to be a 3x4 RB series B SLR. After receiving and verifying operation as much as possible without film I measured the focal plain opening. It looked a little small to eye, and 2x3 Graflok roll film backs almost fitted in the old style Graflex back on this beast. Measurement proved that the focal plain opening was in fact 2.25x3.25. At least I don't have to find nearly impossible to find 3x4 sheet holders and such, but that almost fitting bit had me wondering.
Is it possible to modify this camera to a Graflok compatible back? Has anyone here already done this to their camera, and would you share the information on how to do this? As of right now it simply looks like I would just have to replace the two wood strips to provide for a larger opening with appropriate fittings for a Graflok. This is obviously too simple and I must be missing something, so this request for information.
Thanks in advance.
