A lot of film used only a single notch. Some manufacturers didn’t use notch codes. In the past decade I’ve used 2x3 film from both Efke and Forte that had single notches. I think the one box of Foma 4x5 I shot had single notches. I have some Ansco that expired in 1942 that has single notches.

Thanks. So it sounds like the notch was just for orientation. And the film could be anything...
