My Plaubel Makiflexes have a 2x3 Back which takes Graphics, Riteways, Linhofs, even the Mamiyas (I think!)
Here is one of the cameras with a 2x3 Linhof Back in it. Would like to find some more of these Linhof 2x3's.
I think it's funny to be "snobbed" by folks with their D-800 and EOS MkIII gear when we cross each other, me with my 1939 Ektar lens and a Miniature Speed Graphic - I think inside my head "if you did even know wath I left home when I choosed to come with this..."
I also have one of these little beauties. Maybe it's not as big as my 4x5 Pre-Anny Speed, but it sure turns heads when I pull it out. I have a few 2x3 Grafmatic changers which make for loads of fun.
Ok...
NOW, I get it.
While I usually like to shoot 6x6 or square framed shots, I can see the advantages to the 2X3 size. Plus I like the idea of taking a couple of shots and then seeing how they came out by developing them rather than waiting until I've shot an entire roll of 8 or 12 pictures. I think the size could be fun to work with.
Enough fun that I just bought a Graflex Jr. Now I just hope that it doesn't require too much restoration before I can use it.
Does anyone know where you can get shutter curtains for these focal plane shutters?
I'd love to have gotten a Speed Graphic in 4x5 but it seemed there's quite a bit of hassle keeping
the film from getting dust before, during and afterwards.
