The terrible idea of packaging..... a trail bundle, all offered films, 2 of each in the same foil envelope.
Good teaching package for edge markings.....

Seems like 27 is a common odd number of frames. 10 makes sense in a way if you're used to shooting 120.

12 (which also was sold in 35mm) 6x6 frames, and 10 6x7 are much more common than 6x9 in 120

I use 120 BECAUSE of 6x7, it fits 8x10 without waste

Grafmatic 45 film holder take 6 negatives. That means buying six 25 sheet boxes or one 100 sheet box and two 25 sheet boxes.

I'm just cheap, I like using cheaper "nice" frames instead if custom ones... So 8x10 makes more sense, and is sizable to 11x14 and 20x24 also available in cheap non-custom frames.

You can use standard frames for prints of any size, if you just spend some time on making a nice presentation in an overmat.
That's what I do, and it's a very inexpensive way to nicely frame your photos.

I often come back with an odd number of sheets exposed...so an odd number of sheets in a box is not much of an issue. I take more than 13 holders loaded up on a long trip, so I need more than one 25 sheet box anyway.

But there is something comfortably substantial about the heft of a 50 sheet box of 8x10 film. I have several sealed 10 sheet boxes of 8x10 Tri-X...or at least I hope they have film in them. Reminds me when I first held one of my triplets. They weighed as much as my 4x5 Gowland PocketView and lens -- 2.5 pounds. Holding Calder, it felt like I had more blanket than baby.

With a 10 sheet box of 8x10, you got more box than film.

Don't you ever develop the wrong side by accident? In principle it should be easy to remember the orientation of the holder before you turn the lights out, but you know how things move themselves around in the dark.

Never have, but now that you have mentioned it, I probably will! I use a Jobo 3005 drum and I try to load up all five slots. So I set up my holders in such a way as to reduce the chance of messing up. I tend to expose two of every image, so generally develop film from five holders at a time, one sheet from each. I stack the holders and just work down the pile until all 5 slots are filled. I then develop, judge the negs and decide if any changes are needed in the development of the next batch.

Sometimes the light shifts or wind picks up so a second neg is not exposed of an image...or I expose two 4x10's on a single sheet of 8x10 and do not expose the other piece of film in the holder.

25 sheets?
