A custom built UV exposure box and a Douthitt custom vacuum frame, with vacuum pump.

I did a few 20x24 Platinum prints and then decided to stay focused on my lith printing.

Douthitt vacuum frame, custom made
Large enough for 18”x22” film/plates
Total size is 22”x26”

DIY UV Exposure Unit
3 Icecap 660 VHO Ballasts driving 12 24” Phillips UV Bulbs
Peak spectrum is 365nm, 1600 uW/cdm2 at vacuum frame
Cyanotype, Platinum, Salt, Carbon, Gum all expose around 5 minutes or less.
27”x32”x16”

UVB or UVC?

UVC bulbs are a non-existent entity in contact printing devices, and should remain so. You don't want to mess with UV-C radiation in a quasi-open system like a contact printer for risk of eye injury and skin cancer. It's also completely unnecessary for alt. process printing and probably extremely inefficient since the peak sensitivity of alt. process materials lies significantly beyond the UV-C band.

Yes, I do agree. I am just wondering what other kind of UV there is because most of the UV bulbs I see and the halogen ones people post online are blue in colour.

What type would you recommend to shorten the times?
