I just came across one of these, are they novelty - meaning do they get used once or twice and then rarely after ? Looks like good glass, good design to put the filters in them. If anyone has used this lens, or any comments on it, would like to hear.

Too expensive for what you get. If you must have a fish then consider an rb with a fisheye. It is very good and usually less expensive.

More interesting to me is the 28mm. But it's very pricey.

Apart from shooting teenage boys flying through the air on their skateboards with their trousers sagging, what a lot of folks do with fishes is de-fish the images (electronically) and crop.

Too expensive all depends on just how expensive the individual specimen is, and how useful a fisheye is in general all depends on you as the shooter.

Personally, I'd really like to have a Mamiya fisheye at a reasonable price as I find I really like using fisheyes. Not likely to find one at a reasonable price though considering their relative rarity and my budget.

I LOVE wide angle B & W photography!! Aside from the cost of such lenses they do tend to make the plain and boring suddenly become more photogenic. 24mm is kind of extreme (but very nice) I rather the 30mm & 40mm in MF. As a matter of fact The last 2 days I've been using a 40mm on my Bronica ETR with excellent B & W shots!

There's that Russian fisheye that's not very much and they make it in several mounts. I see it on ebay every so often. I'm sure it isn't the quality but hey it's a fisheye.
