I've stumbled upon Kodak Duplicating Film 2430 and I'm trying to figure out if or how it would work for me. I've been using APHS lith for doing enlarged negs from positive originals, but I would really like to print negs directly from original negs as well. Has anyone out there used duplicating film for enlarged negs, and if so, what sort of developer and concentration. I'm assuming this is a regular panchromatic film which wouldn't require the high dilution and long times that lith film requires?
I haven't been able to find any info on this film and would appreciate any advice.
Years (decades??) ago, Kodak made a film called B/W Duplicating Film, SO-339. I used it a few times, and still have a partial box in the refrigerator. If I recall correctly, it was processed similarly to prints, probably in a tray under safelight using Dektol. The film you have sounds similar. My limited experience with SO-339 was probably sometime in the '80's, so I can't recall much more.
Well, it turns out that this film is not what I thought it was. It is not direct duplicating film, as in making negatives from negatives but simply ortho film. The ebay add was a little deceiving IMO.
