Anyone have any experience with using 220 stainless reels and 120 film for developing? Recently got an 220 reel from a local camera store closing down and was wondering if it was feasible to use it with 120 film or if I would run into some sort of issue.

220 reel with 120 is fine, just don't try to put two 120 rolls on the reel. The spacing of the wire is much finer so it can be a bit frustrating, practice before committing to loading and processing a good roll of film. Folks often ask me what I do with expired 120 film, this is a perfect application for one of those rolls.

I always found those new smaller type 220 reels, the ones that are the same diameter as the 120 reels, to be murder or impossible to load. The old larger diameter 220 reels with the spacing the same as 120 in the spiral, are easy to load, just like a 120 reel. You could have found my newer smaller style 220 reels in my metal recycling bin a few years ago.

I've never had a problem loading 120 on a 220 reel. My 220 reels are Hewes, though, and even the Hewes 120 reels seem easier to load than the other brands I have.

I have the Jobo 120 reels which can take one 220 roll or one or two 120 rolls. The two 120 rolls are separated by a red plastic piece which is supposed to keep them from overlapping. Unfortunately when I tried putting four rolls of 120 on two Job reels, the rolls still overlapped and screwed up all four rolls. Now I do not develop multiple 120 rolls on one reels. User beware!
