I have one of these lenses from the vault by way of dagor77 and am hoping to use my 62mm Bronica filters on it.

Does anyone who has this lens know what filter size fits it? I've measured with a caliper and suspect it is a standard, not metric, size. The two sizes I think might fit are 44mm or 43.5mm

The biggest photo store in Vancouver doesn't have a very good filter selection these days and I have to order step up rings online but don't fancy buying several to see which one fits.

Thanks,
Thorney

You may have to resort to using a slip-on filter holder. As the name implies it slips on the outside of the lens & provides a holder for the filters. 9 times out of 10 the holder is a series size and You may not find a direct 62mm female thread.
Series 7 is around >50mm series 8 is 67mm. It may be problematic to find 62mm. You could have one made($$$).
43.Xmm-44mm= ~1.75". Most of the adapter rings were made in inch sizes perhaps you could find one by searching that way.

Thanks John,
I'm aware of slip-ons etc. - just hoping that someone who has the lens may be able to illuminate me as to what worked for them. Worst case scenario, off to a machine shop...

Hi Thorney,

[Lorne?]

It's a great chunk of glass... I bought one from the Dagmeister as well.

If you can get ahold of Horst W... he might be able to give you some advice.

I've given up trying to find filters that'll fit it. So, what I do is to simply hold a larger diameter filter in front of the lens and you're in like flint!

Cheers

I use--very, very carefully--a 46mm to 52mm filter adapter on mine. I don't think 46mm is the exact filter size, so I screw it in carefully until it starts to bind--about a quarter turn. The ideal solution, of course, would be to send it to S. K. Grimes for a custom filter adapter. To avoid vignetting, the lens does need an adapter taking a larger filter.
