As part of my lighten-the-load campaign I've decided to sell my multi-coated 210mm f/5.6 Apo-Sironar. This is the original version of what became the Apo-Sironar-W - the renaming and addition of the yellow stripe occurred with the introduction of the red-striped Apo-Sironar S family (the Sironar-N line was rebadged as Apo-Sironar-N and gained its white stripe at the same time). All three lenses in the Apo-Sironar (W) line (150mm/210mm/300mm) have an 80º field of view at f/22. This gives the 210mm a 352mm image circle that allows movements on 8x10.

This lens is in excellent optical condition with no obvious issues save the seemingly obligatory dust. Mechanically, the lens cells and shutter are in excellent condition with only minor scuffs or other signs of use; these are most visible on the aperture scales. The Copal 3 shutter operates appropriately on all speeds and modes though I haven't had the speeds tested. 105mm filters screw on and off smoothly. It comes with caps and mounting rings. The lens wrap visible in the photos is not included.

This is a lens of substance and you'll want a solid camera with a strong front standard to use it. My kitchen scale puts it at 986 grams, just under 2 pounds 3 ounces, with caps and retaining rings (for comparison, my now-sold 210mm Apo Sironar S in Copal 1 weighed 476 grams.) Its only other modern competitor, Schneider's 210mm Super Symmar HM, is physically bigger and about 50% heavier - 1510 grams according to Schneider. You can obviously use this on 4x5 or 5x7 but it's massive overkill on those formats; it's really a lens for whole plate and 8x10.

It's hard to know the market for these as they're rather uncommon. They're rarely sold in ebay auctions and ebay BIN pricing is, shall we say, highly aspirational. My asking price of $2400 is well below BIN levels and includes PayPal fees and signature-required insured shipping to your PayPal-verified US address. I will not ship this lens internationally or to a forwarding service. Given its value, I would prefer to sell to Photrio members with established history.
