Dear All,

This coming Friday, 27th April : we will have available the press release relating to this years manufacture, complete with ordering and delivery dates etc, and most important of all our list of fantastic ULF Reseller partners who are once again taking orders for the ULF run on our behalf. I will post this link as soon as it is available.

I am also very pleased to tell you that we continue as previously with the no minimum order procedure, you order, we make it.

I am especially pleased to tell you that for the first time we will also make available a limited number ( seven ) of the ULF sheet film items in DELTA 100 Professional sheet film!

As previously you will be able to request any film size to be made in FP4+ or HP5+ Sheet ( but NOT DELTA 100 Professional ).

Fantastic news Simon, especially if whole plate (6.5 x 8.5) is one of those seven sizes. Is it??!!!

It seems Simon has sensibly gone home for the evening, so we'll both have to wait until tomorrow for his answers. However, since sheet sizes of Delta 400 do not currently exist, there are no master rolls to cut custom sizes from, so I predict his response will be "no."

With Delta 100, HARMAN is likely limiting special sizes to only seven because, even though master rolls of that sheet film are regularly coated, additional fixed costs will accrue. For each new size (assuming FP4 Plus and/or HP5 Plus were offered in previous special order periods), a film cutting mask and box label must be prepared. Therefore, it's probable that only the most ordered formats - based on sales during earlier custom manufacture runs - will be included.

Well, it doesn't hurt to ask. I would love a substitute for Tmax400 in ULF, since that requires a minimum order of around $10K, and I don't know that there are enough 14x17 shooters out there to scare up $10K worth of order. Having that extra speed would be a huge help when shooting portraits in the studio when you have to lose 2+ stops to the bellows alone. I don't have the cash for a 5000ws strobe pack either.

I'm sure Simon will get back to you. But in the meantime I think you can be optimistic - 20x24 HP5 Plus and FP4 Plus have been included in prior years, so I'm sure they will be this year as well.

Firstly : We do not make DELTA 400 Professional on sheet film base and we have no plans to do so, sorry :

DELTA 100 Professional sizes in this years ULF run will be :

13cm x 18cm / 4" x 10" / 5" x 7" / 8.5" x 6.5" / 17" x 7" / 20" x 16" these correspond to the highest volumes ( by format ) of ULF ordered in the last 4 years.

The more observant amongst you will notice this is six items, not seven as I said in my original post, my apologies, as you can see my counting is coming on but is not yet perfect!

The actual film sizes that will be available in FP4+ and HP5+ will be published on Friday and its the biggest range yet and does obviously include 20" x 24".

We have included sizes that people have requested of us, but bizarrely have never been ordered.

So : If you plan to request a new size please please do order it, as Sal mentioned when we make a none standard size we need to produce special custom manufactured cutter guides, these are $ 290.00 a set, quite expensive if you never use them.

That's interesting. Just curious: by "highest volumes", do you mean highest sheet count, or highest revenue?

Hi Jon,

On our press release ( issue imminent ) you will see a list of our ULF resellers.

You place an order with them, during the ordering window, they have the pricing, some require payment with order or a deposit, they then forward the order to our distributor ( or direct in the UK )
at the end of the order window and our distributor sends us the complete order. We then manufacture the product ( scheduled as of in week 2 of August ) we then ship, so dependant on shipping times delivery ( North America ) is about 4 weeks after that, then our distributor ships to our ULF resellers...

Please can you make 5x7 Delta 100 a stock item, its much nicer than FP4, neither is it ULF. There are a fair number of 5x7 users and many would enjoy using it if they were certain to be able to get it next time as they are with FP4 and HP5. All of them seem to scan and what better film for a hybrid workflow. Of course if it was a choice between FP4 and Delta 100 there would be the usual grumbling and bellyaching but they would be better for it.

So the pricing varies from reseller to reseller?

If that's the case I'd probably be better to jump in on a special order being organised on another forum.

Australia notorious gets ripped off in global pricing variations. Take the latest CS upgrade from Adobe as an example. Over twice the price in AUD rather than USD for a download from the same server.

Can someone tell me what 100 sheets of Delta 100 5x7 cost in last years run?

There aren't a whole lot of resellers. A quick look at Ilford's website gives this list. Half an hour or so of research will probably give you a good idea on prices (once they're listed).
