2 new lenses (homemade) in my arsenal

so a few months back i got an ansco pioneer camera.when i tried to take it apart to repair it i broke the rear frame.fast forward a few months and it finally dawned on me to adapt it to my wista sp.well lens boards for wistas are a little expensive so i went to a hobby shop and picked up some abs plastic to make the lens board.cost was 14 dollars for 2 sheets.when i got back to work i started cutting the board using a blank i had.it is a little flimsy but for the very light plastic lens it is actually ok.got it home and put it on my camera and was surpised by the amount of coverage it gave,even at infinity i get a nice bright image covering the entire ground glass,simply amazing considering it is a single plastic element.i thought it would be a close up lens and now that i discovered its range i decide to do another lens.so the next day one of my beloved holgas lost its battle to survive intact in this world.now i have a closeup lens with that wonderful holga quality.it will be a challenge to get the look i want when doing closeups.if i use to much extension i wont get the holga light fall off and not enough extension and i wont cover enough of the 4x5.that may produce interesting pics but i want the look of the holga 6x6 pics i have gotten in the past,just a little darkness in the corners.
i will post pics as soon as i have a chance to take them.

i would like to say that the influences for doing these lenses came from this site and i believe mostly from some of the wonderful pics of jim galli and his lenses.

I get a kick out of the way the Chinese Holga cameras say "Optical Lens". As opposed to what other kind of lens? Would you ever hear "Hey, be careful there, you should be using an optical lens, that one is clearly marked as auditory lens!"

rkmiec, I saw this post earlier and had to search my contact prints for the image below. A test shot with the Ansco Pioneer lens on 4x5. It was taken in July 2006, my mother-in-law holding my 2 week old daughter. Good luck with your new lenses, I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

Which further begs the question, when can I expect to get a cheap plastic acoustic lens recording device? A "Hearga" perhaps? And if so, will it have sound leaks?
