2 Diopter lens for viewfinder on Leica IID?

Has anyone tried to fit a 2D lens on the (normal) viewfinder of a Leica IID? I'm longsighted by 2D , and it would be a useful aid.

(I understand such lenses exist for the M series ... but I'm talking specifically about the IID.)
