Maybe the owner of the Leicashop and the Westlich himself, remember the Daguerreotype camera that recently sold for a record sum well it's standing in the Westlicht Gallery next to some other beautiful cameras. Maybe on permanent loan who knows

Its a piece of history you cant beam yourself to these days. May be first time traveller will be a very rich man. By this way I was reading science news and reach to a point there is no life in universe because nobody beam itself to here or go back in time and stop the wars and diseases. If there would be a UFO , at least they would stop the diseases if they are not s.. of b....

I think it would be better to buy film for all that money instead and skip the GAS. Or donate some of it to APUG.

Collecting, a type of hoarding.

Some people hoard money, some hoard objects and others hoard people.

Some do it for prestige, love, respect or acknowledgment.

Seems kinda sad.

But some also do it to preserve and share.

Not sure what this was.

Seems like a good investment, only 28 of them? Gold bars get boring after a while, this investment takes pics too!!!!

I wonder if the owner will put a film through it. I know I couldn't resist using it:smile:

Clive - If I was a billionaire and found myself in the situation of owning this beauty, I would for sure run a roll! Seems that it would increase its value if it was proven to still work.

Thanks Suzzane for the merge!

The big question: does the camera work? Seriously, US$2.8m for something that in all probability doesn't even work? Show us the photos!

I just have to have two [or three] Leica 0-Series cameras! Where do I send the money?
