I echo the banana! Tim's book is a masterpiece.

Also you will get a range of opinions, but one thing is for sure, not all papers are lithable, and those that do never lith the same (even batch to batch, not only brand to brand). For Lith develpers there are limited choices, but Moersch has a good reputation check out his work on apug), and I use Rollei Lith...there is also Arista...you need to decide what look you are looking for, trawl the galleries and experiment!

I have two of his books and am waiting form the newest one to arrive this week.

What are the major differences between Moersch's "easy lith" and his "SE5". How are they different from Rollei. Looking at galleries on line is enjoyable but I'm not sure it's a good way to evealuate product results????

Dear 'Strab'
Both Moersch developers are formaldehyde/paraformaldehyde free, whereas most others are not. This may or may not matter to you. Some people dislike working with formaldehyde or its smell, which is most obvious when heated or with poor ventilation. Easylith is slightly higher in pot. bromide, which makes judging the snatch point easier, especially when learning. SE5 has the same developer plus various additives to expand your options when more experienced.

If you would like a description and update of current lith papers and developers I have one free on my mailing list. Just sign up and download it. It was updated in November and not much has changed since then apart from news about LD20. This is now in stock again at Fotospeed and as a new manufacturer, will be going out for testing next week to ensure up to scatch and then if all OK will be on the market again ASAP thereafter.

I have a hard time telling the difference between Moersch SE5 and Rollei. Both are excellent. I've used Champion and Arista and I'd stick with Moersch or Rollei to start with.
