1947 Velox - Surprised again

So I decided to make another print on my Kodak Velox that expired in 1947. Any ideas why some papers make it through years of storage while others don't? I am so in love with these tiny little single weight sheets I wish I had more than the 720 sheets I bought!

See image attached. I am very surprised!

Developed in Ansco 130 @ 1+3 dilution. 1 minute and slightly longer exposure to hold fog levels down a bit.

You know, you could use a bit of benzotriazole (anti-fog) added to your tray of developer to get rid of the last bit of fogging.

Thomas-if M+P ever get their paper made I'll be glad to let you have some more..!! did I mention that I did an entire show at the Valley Photo Center with
50 year old AZO none of which was larger than (actually slightly smaller) than 4x5 inches. and the show was really great. all of the tones were there. I just haven't used the one's you have yet because I still have AZO. bought mine from a guy up in the maritimes of Canada. same source for you??

come to think of it I did have a few prints done on the Velox. I dev in Amidol and had none of the problems you are showing...

Developer laden papers

I suspect that older papers have a much better shelf life as they dont have developer incoperated in the papers? anyone else want to back up this theory of mine?

Velox and Azo are both silver chloride papers which seem to have a much longer shelf life than chlorobromide papers. Neither has an incorporated developer, but many enlarging papers don't have that feature either.
