While being an extremely sharp, if slightly slow lens, it covers full frame from 24mm to 55mm with no noticible vignette. I find myself shooting it at 18mm and just enjoying the projected image circle it gives. It all started when I put it on my F, and shot it at f36. I thought this effect was so cool, it was actually one of my motivating factors to buy an F6... I always wanted one anyway, but now I could control the aperature.

Just a thread to show you what this little "Digital" lens is capable of, and how it's useful for film photography. Lately I find myself pushing Tri-x to 1600 and shooting with either this lens or my 50mm f1.8D. Eventually, I'll be able to afford a 24-70, but until now... I can cover a lot of those focal lengths, at the very least.

The color photos are a mix of Kodachrome 40A and 64, while the black and whites are Foma 400 and Tri-X

Nice shots, I dig the vignetting. I thought about doing this with my Tokina 12-24 as it doesn't vignette nearly as much as I expected it would on the full frame. Unfortunately the image quality wide open leaves a lot to be desires so I haven't bothered.

Not really a fan of the vignetting, but if it suits you, great! I heard that the 35mm f1.8 DX also gives lovely results on fullframe.

Interesting, I might try this out. I'm in a similar position to you, saving up for better.

Bummer, I sold mine without even thinking to try.

I haven't taken any shots with mine, but I did mount it the other day on the F100 and was surprised to see no vignetting. Next roll of film through the F100 I will test how sharp it is in the corners and what the fall off is like. If it's good I'll probably sell the 35mm f/2.
