16mm Cine 100 foot Roll B&W Options

Other then Kodak and Foma, is there anyone else that offers 16mm Cine B&W film in 100 foot rolls? I'd like to get some neg stock, and Kodak 5222 is the only option. Foma only offers a reversal. And developing would have to be in D96. Is there anything by Adox, or some other manufacturer?

I don't think you have to develop the Foma material in a reversal process - it should be possible to develop it as a negative too.

There may also be some camera-negative material still available from Orwo. They still make 35mm at least.

Edit: Added Orwo link, and here is one of the datasheets which lists 16mm as a standard product size. For North America, this page is probably the one you need.

I can provide you with 16-mm. Gigabitfilm 40, perforated along one edge 0.3000". It’s from 2005. You can have 100, 200, 400, and 800 feet. Exposure index ISO 40 in daylight when processed in the original Gigabitfilm chemistry. The stock has half the thickness of common films, so 200 feet can be wound onto a 100-ft. spool. $29 for 100', net. Gigabitfilm is panchromatic.

Else you might find a solution with Ilford. They discontinued Pan F, FP 4, and HP 5 as ciné stocks. Who knows whether they’d find the way back to converting to 16 if one placed an order large enough?

Fomapan R must be reversed or the negative is covered by the black silver anti-halo subbing it’s got.

Why not buy directly from FilmoTec in Germany? They make more than only UN 54 and N74.

ORWO Has 2 different speed emulsions, 100 and 400 iso, in 16 and 35mm, 100 and 400' rolls.

I have had great luck with the ORWO N74 in my 35mm still camera, and have also used the UN54 as a negative in my movie camera. the folk at http://orwona.com (George) is the north American distributor and he generaly has stock on hand.

UN54 is an ISO 100 film that can be used as a negative or reversal processed. N74 is a 400ISO negative. Both come with "Modern" (Kodak Key-Kode compatible bar code edge printing) and Negative perfs. I notice they have recently started to stock double perf 16mm for older 16mm cameras.

buying the 400ft of N74, one can bulk load 72 35mm 36 exposure loads for a bit over 3 dollars each including the postage. But the 16mm should be quite satisfactory for 16mm Sub-miniature camera use.

Folks in the EU should of course order from the EU distributor.

I see a note on ORWO NA's page about an ongoing discount. Do you know discount rate? Asking here because they don't sell outside NA.
