Manny Kiner designed this Ilex-produced lens. It's basically a plasmat and was offered in three focal lengths, all f/4.8 - 150mm, 180mm, and 215mm. The 150 and 180 were sold in Copal 1 shutters, while the 215 is most commonly found in an Ilex 3, although it was also sold in a f/5.6 version in a Copal 1. All three lenses were convertible by removing the front cell; the 150mm converts to a 247mm, and the aperture scales are marked for both focal lengths. It's specified as having a 214mm image circle at f/22 and infinity so covers 4x5 easily or 5x7 with a tiny bit of wiggle room as a 150, I don't know anything about coverage or performance when converted.

This example is not perfect but it's perfectly usable. There are a couple of small nicks on the front surface, beyond that the cells are clean and clear. The shutter sounds slow but repeatable at 1 sec and 1/2 sec; it's usable as-is but you should pursue a CLA if you're going to give the lens heavy use. It comes with the retaining ring but no caps.

I'm asking $140 including US shipping. Contact me to discuss shipping outside the US. PayPal G+S is fine.

These are very good lenses; a friend used one in the 1980s with excellent results. Ilex optics are often underrated, for reasons I don't understand.
I don't need a 150mm lens, and the holidays have swallowed all my spare cash anyway, but this lens at this price is an absolute bargain.
