I have the front and rear elements of this lens and I have an idea as to how to mount it. Could someone measure the apertures of the lens at the marked F-stops. If someone could do it in mm's that would be very helpful. I may have something interesting to show in a couple of days.

f/1 would be 14"

There is certainly a formula to come up with the apeture size.

I hope someone posts it.

Sorry not to be of more help.

Good luck

focal length / aperture size = f number. If you know the f number and want to figure the aperture size, then do: focal length / f number = aperture size. Doesn't matter if you use inches or millimeters, it all works the same.

Jon, thank you for answering my question. Thanks to the others who gave me formulas. I am making waterhouse stops for my lens. I have mounted it in a rather unique barrel and have stops for it. The measurements that Jon provided will help a great deal. When I get this thing done I'll list my "Hybrid 14" Ektar!" After everyone sees this I think I'm going to get a new nickname!!! I'll keep you all posted.

Jon, thanks for that additional info. I did not even think about that part of the equation. The funny thing is that I just measured the overall height and it is 74mm plus some! Not bad for eyeballing things!
