Teaching beginning classes in photography has provided an opportunity for me to understand how simple concepts can be very confusing for a new comer attempting to understand the terminology in photography. My method is to use a reference to common everyday products that can be related by analogy to basic photography. This seems to be working very well and is much appreciated by the students in the learning process.
