120 scanning

Anyone know of of good place in Toronto to scan 120 B/W film? my local shop has to send it out and its $2 a negative, thanks

That ain't bad...I wanted a 4x5 scanned by my local guy...I got "highest resolution jpg" for $9.95 + tax.

I'll keep trying on my flatbed, once I figure out how to clean the underside of the glass...

I have had this idea to use an enlarger with a flatbed(project onto the glass)... Could somebody try this? I don't want to buy a flatbed just to experiment.

canon makes a flatbed that can scan 120 & 35mm film, and it costs about US$130.00

I've read reviews that say the scanning quality is amazing compared to other flatbeds, and up to par with most dedicated film scanners.

$2 is dirt cheap. My local shop charges $20 for a medium resolution and $40 for the highest resolution scan for 120 film.

I dont know if its high resoulution but I said so It will cost about 24 bucks a roll he said yea, I get 36 exp black white 35mm scanned for $ 11.95. Toronto residents let me know if you want the address . its on St Clair Ave West

Go to Pikto in the Distilley District and rent time on one of their Nikon 9000 workstation by the hour. Those are nice scanners. Or get yourself one of the Epson flatbeds with 120-format transparency adaptor -- they do a pretty good job.

I have an Epson 3200 and it seems to do a good job. A little hard to be sure since I don't know what the heck I am doing, really.

Not a typo. Straight from their website:
25MB file - $15
50MB file - $20
100MB file - $30
200MB file - $40

If you want a low res scan, you can get it but it has to be at the time they develop the roll. Why would you want that?

Hahahahaha !!!!! this is really fun ! You are talking about scaning films in the B&W film etc. forum and noone has attacked you yet !!!!

With the prices you're talking about, you can easily buy an Epson 4800dpi scanner for the money you'll give to scan 30 negs or slides...
