I have an Ensign Carbine camera that I would like to shoot with. Last night I loaded it with a roll of 120 and quickly discovered I can't see the numbers in the red frame advance window on the back. My first mistake was loading it with a roll of Shanghai GP3. The grey printing on the black backing paper is hard to see under normal circumstances .... in this camera (as well as a Flexaret TLR I have) it is impossible.
What 120 films have you found that have the most 'readable' printing on the backing paper so that it is easily <?> read through the red window?
I use a few folders with the red windows, including Ensign's, and I find that Fomapan is the best to see the frame Nos, it is very black on white, but you still need a bit of care, especialy with Ensign's, which seem to have a deeper red than many German folders, If the sun is bright than that helps if you trn the back towards the sun, if dull I take a small torch (Flashlight to you) and to shine that into the back.
