Definition of honesty: Someone who wants a fair price when he buys and asks the same very fair price when he sells. This is a great price Ian but I am now stocked up on tanks and reels. Pity

Not with commercial developers, but until I began adding a couple of drops of Wetting agent to my Pyrocat HD just occasionally in Turkey with the very hard water where we live. But you get the same air bubbles with stainless reels as well.

I had thought the air bubbles were due to a lack of sufficient random agitation and possibly residual wetting agent; however I've still seen bubble marks with XTOL / Paterson processing, even when I've had no bubble marks on many previous occasions. I've also been using a citric acid stop recently so perhaps an acetic acid stop helps due to pH variation.

Tom, I posted some images showing air bubbles in a tank a couple of years ago, I tried all ways to eliminate them and was surprised that all types of agitation still left a few.

Commercial developers often contain small amounts of sequestering agents and also non-foaming wetting agents to overcome the problem. All the big manufacturers Patented specialist wetting agents, Agfa in particular did a lot of work in the 1930's. The type of stop bath makes no difference.
