what is the covering power of the 12 inch red dot Artar?? I have one and want to use it on the 8x10

Goerz says no. But since users' idea of adequate coverage are all over the place, ask it whether it will do for you.

mount it and look at the ground glass?.... Use a loupe to observe how far out its still sharp (Illumination versus Definition).

It appears that the 12” focal length Red-Dot Artar covers 8” x 10” down to 1:5 and higher magnifications. At 1:10 the coverage drops to 7” x 9”.
