110mm lens and lensboard - recessed or no?

Any 110mm lens users out there? I snagged a used Schneider 110mm XL and need to purchase a lensboard for it.

This is a copal 1, and most recessed boards I see are for copal 0.

Is a recessed lensboard really needed? I have an Ebony RW45 (no bag bellows).

Do you think my bellows will restrict my movements much?

I've never used my 110mm XL on my 4x5, but I often use it on my 5x7 and my 8x10 (on flat lens boards).

My WA 4x5 lenses are my 55mm Apo Grandagon and my 47mm SA XL.

I use the 110SS on my chamonix 4x5 with a flat board with no problems whatsoever.

BTW, this is one kick ass lens. My favorite.

Just be sure to get a step up ring to use with larger filters to avoid vignetting

I don't own the lens or the camera, but if you move the front standard about 4" or 110 mm from the ground glass you'll have a pretty good idea of what to expect. If at that distance the bellows or either (probably the rear) standard restricts movements then you may have an issue. I'd avoid a recessed lensboard if possibel and go with a bag bellow if needed. I find recessed lens boards a PIA. That lens creates a really big image circle and I'm sure you'll want to be able to take advantage of it. have fun, from everything I've read that lens is great.

I use the 110XL on an Ebony SW45. There is certainly no need for a recessed lens board. I can get full front movement with this set up (although the lens is capable of more movement). I think the SW bellows may be a bit more flexible then the RW, however you should still be able to get max rise with the RW with this lens.

The 110 will cover 8x10? That's very good to know.
