110 film availabiltiy? Sold out in many places

I was thinking of picking up my 1st 110 camera for funzies, but I first wanted to check the availability of lomo 110 film. I see that is is sold out or back ordered in many places, so I just wanted to check and see if I missed anything about the film being discontinued again.

Get a slitter and slit down 120. Learn to re-load 110 carts and you'll be far ahead than paying $10+ for 110 film.

Get a few empty cassettes and then slit and roll your own. This is what I do for Minox and Minolta 16..The advantage is a wider choice of films of your own choice. With low low prices compared to when new, think about a Minox B, C or LX. Negative may be smaller but quality comparable or even better than 110. And rugged.

They don't require a membership, per se. I think that having a login is intended to streamline things during this pandemic, as the store is closed. I can buy something from them online and after placing the order, I'll get an email telling me my item is ready to be picked up. Then I go to the store, call from the sidewalk, and they'll set the item outside their door for me to grab. I don't need to give them an email or a phone number with each order--it's just tied to my account and the email shows up once they've pulled my item from the shelf.

Of course you can order something and have it shipped to you, and I think there's an option to purchase something without setting up an account. But for locals, it's fairly convenient to have your information on record to facilitate pick-ups during the pandemic. (Before the lockdown began, you could go into the store and buy whatever you want without so much as giving them your name, if you were so inclined).

I wouldn't read too much into that: Lomography for one seems to produce film in batches, and they frequently run out of certain items. And who knows whether film manufacturing is running at full capacity right now due to the pandemic. I'd suggest signing up for email notification when products become available again.

Lomography is always low on stock for their 110 film. I haven't seen their colour tiger film available for many many months. They haven't introduced any new colour variants of their cameras. In general they seemed to have slowed down on production of new plastic fantastic cameras. A lot of their embassy stores have closed. I'm thinking (unfortunately) that the writing is on the wall for them. I certainly think that 110 film is on it's way out (again) as well. Hopefully I'm wrong though. It's a fun format to shoot.

The Lomography branded 110 films have not been discontinued but availability always ebbs and flows. They probably only place an order a couple of times a year for the raw material. Nobody seems to know who actually does the final loading into 110 cartridges for them.
