I've got a credit with KEH right now, and my GAS is having a field day.

I'm sort of torn between adding a second lens to my Hasselblad, or adding a 4th lens to my RZ67 kit. I know the answer may seem obvious, since I only have an 80mm for the Hassy, but all my current projects seem to aimed towards the RZ, I got the Hassy for some 6x6 fun, but I've found I still prefer the RZ for most things. That said, a 150mm f4 could be pretty sweet but I have always wanted the 110mm 2.8 for RZ, and I wonder if anyone has an opinion here...

How significant is the advantage of a 110 over the 90mm other than the 2.8 vs. 3.5? I have heard that the 110 has a mythical quality to it that is great for all purpose shooting. Is this true or in general does the 90 perform similarly?

Have no experience with the RZ lenses but i have the 90/3.8 for the RB and i am satisfied. However, it's a slightly wide "normal", so a 110 will be closer to what a user would expect as a "normal" lens, if used to 50mm lenses on 35mm film cameras.

I too am not familiar with the RZ but if it's any help the Hassy 150 is approximately 1/2 the angle of view of the 80. I have several Hasselblad lenses and tend to use the 50FLE and 150 more than the 80. You could consider the Hasselblad Mutar 2X and have enough leftover for the 110. My Mutar 2X is quite sharp with the 150, 250 and 350. You could double the focal length and keep the closer focus of the 80.

the 150f/4 is a std portrait lens for the Hasselblad and a very good lens overall.no Hassy should be without it:smile:

I haven't used the 90mm, but I really do like the 110mm 2.8. I'm actually borrowing an RB 90mm lens, but haven't shot any film with it. =/

I'd say, if you can find a nice 110mm, get it.

I used to own the 110. Not only is it the fastest lens for the RZ it is also the smallest and lightest which makes it the best well balanced lens with the RZ. I also owned the 50 ULD and the 180. The 110 was easily my favorite and most used.

Nothing to think about here, just get one.
