That's not GAS, Darko. That's just healthy curiosity.

i was actually misquoted,
i didn't specifically say i wanted
a dream camera, i said i had $1000 to spend
and what should i get ...

but that's OK i was going along with the whole dream camera thing
it is a popular item here on apug, i don't mind reading what everyone else's dream cameras are
( i've already got mine )

Circa 1970 when I was in High School I went to one of Nikon's "Nikon School" sessions. They showed a short film promoting the Nikonos:

Guy and family enjoying the beach.
He is laying on the sand and the kids have him buried up to his neck in sand.
Guy sits up and there is a camera around his neck, there is sort of a gasp in the room.
Next, he walks over to the surf, dips the camera in to wash off the sand and starts to take pictures of the kids romping in the water. The whole room groans.
Then there is a close up showing the Nikonos I he is using.

The Nikonos became the closest thing I've had to a dream camera at that point.

1000$ is too cheap for a dream camera. 20k$ shd be better! 75k for the newest Leica.

Well, it's definitely a dream camera used with the below and above sea level lenses.
