10 year old exposed B/W undeveloped film, is my developing plan right?

Hello everyone A friend of mine has a film which is 10 years old, which was exposed then stored. It has not been stored well, its been all over the place, then into a damp cellar (the casing has a couple of rust spots on it). I offered to have a go at developing it in the darkroom. I have 3 developer choices which are here... Rodinal.... D76 and ilford microphen. Which developer do you guys reccomend for a 10 year old exposed film? it has some day and some night shots on it according to my friend..
Which developer do you guys reccomend? or should i use another one?
i thought of using fresh ilford microphen stock at 8 minutes developing time, then usual stop and fix and wash then a final wash of 1L water then 5ml wetting agent

HC-110 1+31 is my suggestion for its anti-fogging characteristics but others have had success with D76. May not matter, 10 years really isn't that long. I've developed film exposed in the 50's and it turned out surprisingly well.

Yeah, ten years really isn't that old. Any of the developers you or other commenters mentioned should be fine. If you're really paranoid, Rodinal 1+100 stand developed for an hour should get good results no matter what.

its not the age that concerns me, it is the very poor storage conditions; i will probably use D76, i am free in a couple of days so will have a darkroom session then... given it was stored at extremes of temperatures (in an attic i think) then moved into a cellar where the humidity is very high. do you guys reccomend a pre-soak before i begin development with D76? microphen is a personal favourite; i am most famillar with it, and i can just use my gut and adjust the times for push/pulling (i use stock) rodinal second in line.
@Necator, how well did it pan out at 12 minutes? (considering the roll is 50 years old) as this is quite an importaint roll im getting all the info i can before i attempt it (ive never gone wrong with negatives that were correctly exposed before apart from when i was starting out) *touch wood*

I never pre-soak B&W films, just C-41 to get the temperature to 39C.

Microphen would probably work too if it is what you have mixed up.

I didn't mix the chemicals up yet, i mix them the night before (with the exeption of rodinal, which i use right away) and then use them next day. i reuse microphen stock 10 times and it keeps for over a month in a tightly capped nearly full bottle (and add 30 seconds each time; i do not reuse stock if the roll is a "once in a lifetime" or critical, i just use fresh chemistry), it preforms outstanding.
Come to think of it, given that a couple of people on here have mentioned that it should be okay i will use microphen rather than D76 merely because i am familliar with it, so i will mix up some fresh stock ready tonight... seeing as the powder is a pain to dissolve! i don't pre-soak either.
